Galaxy S4 to Virgin Mobile?

Is this going to happen any time soon? I'd imagine it will be the next big release for Android phones on VM. I saw VM Australia has them, but they're totally different from the US division, I know.

I just don't get why VM IMMEDIATELY had the brand new iPhone almost as soon as they were released but when it comes to next gen Android phones we have to wait forever! I'd love a S4 running KitKat, if that's ever possible...

and has VM EVER had an OTA update on the phones OS? I've never once seen VM ever update any of their phones OS, even when OTA's roll out everywhere for everyone else... If you buy a phone from them with 4.1 on it, you can pretty much count on that being the OS you will be rocking until you buy another phone... am I right? It's crazy because I bought the S3 and it has 4.1 on it, yet now on the VM website the S3 comes with 4.3 preloaded... why don't we get an OTA update???

From what I understand, Virgin Mobile is getting iPhones quickly because Sprint (their parent company) has made a commitment to sell a huge amount of them, and making them available on prepaid is one way to fulfill that commitment.

Right now, the S3 is getting 4.3 as an OTA update, or it sounds like you can also download it through Kies. I'm not sure how much of a sign this is of things to come for Virgin Mobile, but it's at least a step in the right direction!

We are getting an update to 4.3 on the S3. You can download it through Kies, and someone in another thread says some have started getting it OTA. I downloaded it last night, and so far there are problems with the phones performance, as well as some other issues I've noticed.

I think the S4 will probably come to Virgin around the same time as Samsung releases the successor to the S4. That's what happened with the S3.

As for Apple, I agree. I think it does have something to do with Sprint's commitment, but I would never buy another Apple products again. I think Apple as a company is very shady.

This is my guess as well for VM getting the Galaxy S4. Ultimately I've heard that Sprint decides when their MVNOs get new phones.

I read an article yesterday, saying that Samsung may release the S5 sooner than thought, possibly March or April. VM got the S3 approximately 1 month after Sprint got the S4, so if the same holds true VM might be getting the S4 sooner as well.
