Galaxy s5 and Pioneer MVH-180UB

Hi guys. So I recently bought the pioneer MVH-180UB car stereo and I want to connect it with my galaxy s5 (android 6.0.1) through the USB port, so it would charge and output audio to the car stereo, but i can't seem to get it work. In my stereo settings, there are two options Memory and App Control and if I understood correctly, the when I switch to the Memory, the radio tries to connect with my phone using MTP to get all the songs from my phone but when I switch to App Control, it should connect using the AOA2 but the radio still keeps on showing Format Read as if it would be trying to scan my phone for songs. Mostly I listen to music in my Deezer app on my phone, but as know, skiping songs with the phone is not quite safe while driving, so it would be great to skip song using my car stereo. Has any one had similar issues?

I also have a pioneer car stereo and I had trouble with it reading my android phone. I would get error 19 on the stereo. Anyways, I found that pioneer makes an app that fixes this. It works fine now but I do have to use the stereo to navigate through my music files in my phone. So I can't use the music player app on my phone but this is fine for me. For playlists I just make playlist folders manually on my PC and drag and drop them into my phone. The sound quality with my android is so much better than it was with my iPhone it actually sounds like I've installed an amplifier in my car :-)
