Help Galaxy S5 - can't get Lollipop

Samsung Galaxy S5:

SM-G900F
AP: G900FXXU1ANI4
CP: G900FXXU1ANG8
CSC: G900FOLB1ANI1

I have read on this forum that Lollipop firmware for OLB devices should be available, but I get nothing when I attempt OTA update, and when I try through Kies it shows that an update is available but it won't proceed past the 'Preparing the components..." dialog - it hangs.

My carrier is Vodafone New Zealand.

Any help appreciated!!

Lets see. There are a number of CSC codes for Thailand Philippines and Malaysia but none for Vodafone NZ whose CSC code is VNZ on the G900i model. Therefore I am guessing that you are using either a branded or unbranded model phone from one of those 3 countries originally. Not all of the phones from those countries has received the Lollipop update yet.

You will need to install Phone Info, free from the Play Store, and post your, "Product code", so that we can determine whether your phone is eligible for Lollipop yet.
 
You have the unbranded Malaysian model of the G900F that has already received 2 Lollipop updates so far, NL3 and OA2. There are a number of reasons that your phone may have not updated and what you can do about it, shown in #1.0 and #1.11 of 37 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide. You can download the firmware and flash it via Odin by following the instructions and video in those links. Here is the stock Samsung, unbranded, Malaysian firmware...

Your CSC code of OLB and Product code XTE means that you have the Philippines Galaxy S5 with carrier branded firmware for Sun Cellular. As yet, there is no Lollipop release for your phone and you are currently on the latest Android 4.4.2 release.

I would rather not flash via Odin as this will void my warranty. Is there any other way?

Flashing stock Samsung firmware via Odin for your model of phone and CSC code does not void your warranty. Alternatively, you can take it to your nearest Samsung Service Point and explain that it is not updating and ask them to flash it for you.

This tells me that you have the international model, G900F, with a Middle East CSC code, OJV, and is for Product Code XSG which is the UAE. It also tells me that you are, currently, on the latest firmware release for this phone, which is NL1 on Android 4.4.2 as Android 5.0, Lollipop, has not been released for it yet.

My advice is to keep checking S5 Lollipop (Android 5) latest releases to see when there is a release for your model. Also helpful, is 40 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide to learn more about the Galaxy S5 and firmwares.

Philippine carriers, Globe, Open Line, Smart and Sun Cellular have all released Android 5.0, Lollipop, firmware. For reasons you may not be able to update and what you can do about it, see, #1.10 and #1.11 of 40 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide.

Got my Firmware upgrade to lollipop earlier today.
All is good.
Used Samsung Kies V3 for the update.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums Sanjogsingh :)

The regional model of the Samsung Galaxy S5 for Australia, NZ, India, Taiwan and Saudi Arabia, SM-G900i, on Vodafone New Zealand, CSC code = VNZ, is still on Android 4.4.2 build NKI.

In fact, there have only been 2 Android 5.0 releases for this model. 1 for Taiwan and 1 for India, to-date.

You have 2 choices...

1. Wait for the Lollipop firmware to be released for your model of phone and CSC code.

2. Download the stock Samsung firmware for either Taiwan or India, (India is the latest on OD3), and flash it via Odin by following the instructions and video in the links of #1.11 of 40 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide. Note the warning in that link! Also, I cannot guarantee that the modem/baseband for either Taiwan or India will be completely compatible with the NZ Vodafone network. You could give it a go and if it isn't, just re-flash your original, 4.4.2, firmware.

The reason that your phone has not been updated is because it has been modified. See #1.10 of 41 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide

Product code XME is for Malaysia

CSC code OJV is for the Middle East and North Africa primarily.

You can either download and flash the latest stock firmware for Malaysia, which may not contain a Spanish language pack but will have English. If you flash this firmware you will receive automatic updates for your XME Product code, in future.
