Help Galaxy S5 G900v please help

Hello everyone I have the Galaxy S5 G900v and I have kitkat 4.4.4 and don't want to upgrade to the 5.0 however I keep getting notifications telling me to update. Is there anyway to stop the notification? I don't think Verizon had a root for my phone so I can't do that. Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to Android Forums DamienWells1118 :)

You have the Verizon version of firmware on your G900V which has, among other things, a locked bootloader, (see #1.6 of 40 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide), and, unlike the stock Samsung models, forced updates which cannot be prevented unless you root your phone. There is a new Verizon version of Lollipop about to be launched, see, here.

You can root your phone but it will entail flashing the oldest Verizon firmware that can be rooted and then towelroot can be used.

There are a number of guides on how to do this and AZgl1500 has put together a collection of these links in his post in...
