Galaxy S6 restarted and erased page layout?

My Samsung GS6 ran out of batteries last night. When I plugged it in and restarted all my page layouts were gone and replaced with very minimal layouts and some factory apps, like Samsung internet browser, Flipboard, Amazon, and Galaxy essentials widget.

At first I thought it was Safe Mode, but the problem has persisted even after multiple restarts. Also deleted a few apps that I recently downloaded, but still nothing. Everything else seems to be working fine though. Just concerned there may be some sort of skin or adware interfering. Anyone encountered anything like this before?

Were you using a custom launcher? It sounds like either a new launcher was installed or it defaulted back to stock TouchWiz.

If the data for the launcher were somehow compromised it could default back to stock screens. If the launcher updated automatically, it might have wiped the data too. Hard to tell, but if it's just your home screen layouts that changed and you're not missing any data than I'd say it was gremlins. ;) IF it happens again, then you might have a problem .... and make sure you backup your personal information and files BEFORE it becomes a real problem.
