That's pretty nice. I came from an LG G3, and it had it's own backup application baked into the stock ROM. It worked very similiar to Titanium Backup, in that it backed up your apps and the data, so that you never had to use the cloud at all. Unfortunately, it only worked across LG devices.
Too bad TiBu can't become a defacto standard backup tool baked into Android. I understand Google Play backs up stuff, but that is also on the developer of the app to ensure it does that I believe. So, not all apps will work that way.
I also tried Helium but again, not all apps work with it, so your mileage may vary.
Basically, the only fool-proof way to really make it work is to root, and then use TiBu. Back then, that's how I always backed up and it was mainly the only reason I rooted. When I got on the LG G3 and saw the backup utility baked into the stock ROM, I stopped rooting.
I won't root my S7. It works fine, I love Samsung Pay and refuse to lose that with rooting. And so far, it does seem that my apps that I use are backed up to Google Play, so I'm safe at this moment.
