Galaxy S7 Contact Photos Too Small

I am surprised I could not find a question about this.

All the contact photos on my Galaxy S7 are just tiny photos in a circle, even when I open a contact or make/receive a call. I cannot find a way to make them bigger. I have seen threads about this problem with the S6 but I would have thought they would have fixed it by now. Any ideas?

When I open a contact, I get like the entire upper 1/3 of the screen as the contact pic. Are you sure about the opening up part?

Unfortunately, yes. When I open a contact I get the same tiny photo in a circle in the lower left corner of the top third of the screen. The rest of the top is a very, very, very blurred big picture - so dark and blurred that until yesterday I did not even know it was a picture.

Try getting a new pic of the person, one that's of higher resolution and see what happens.
