Galaxy S7 Running Hot ?

Ade09

Lurker
Does anyone else have heat issues with the s7 ?.......After about 20 minutes of light surfing no downloads or streaming my s7 can reach 39 degrees and feels very warm to touch on the screen......I've shut all background apps down and cleared the cache files but still the heat persists ??........I upgraded from my galaxy 6 edge which never got this hot so do I have a problem with this phone ?? Or are others with this phone have these temperatures ?? Thanks for any replies.

39C does seem a bit high, my s7edge under normal usage is around the 25-29C mark. It could just be a app running in the background. Or maybe something is syncing/backing up a lot of data? Hows your battery usage?

Battery useage is no better no worse than my s6 edge really........I don't think anything is running in the background I have wiped the cache and shut everything I can that's running ....I contacted Samsung and they didn't seem too concerned over it but if it got to 45 degrees let them know !!

I did have a bit of heat produced from my S7Edge, the first week that I used it. But that was under heavy use (With Spotify, Reddit, Instagram and a bunch of other apps open). I read that it does that when the phone is getting used to your average battery usage initially...
It's been almost two weeks since I bought my phone, and now there's no unwanted heat produced through daily usage.
So, maybe it's calibrating to your usage pattern (?) or it's a defect.
If you do feel uncomfortable with the heat, contact Samsung for a replacement. With all their exploding devices, they can't really say no :p Cheers man.

What monthly update are you on? The Aug update was causing my phone to run hotter, but the Sept update seems to have fixed it.

I downloaded a launcher yesterday that was causing my phone to get extremely hot with no use and the battery was dropping the rate of 1% every 2 minutes with no use.

I factory reset it last night and all is well now.
