Galaxy S7 vs S7 Edge Dilemma: Small Hands

My previous phone was a Galaxy S5, and I have to say I felt that 5.1 inches was the largest phone I would ever use. I bought a Galaxy S7 Edge the other day, because I wanted the fancy edge screen, but I have to say ... at five foot seven inches and with a hand that is literally the size of an S7 Edge itself, I find holding the thing ... difficult, and typing one-handed nearly impossible without having to let go of the phone and letting it just sit in my palm as I reach all over it with my thumb.

Now, I get it, it's a phablet. And people who routinely use Galaxy Notes are probably looking at me like "Is this guy serious?" but, yeah, to me, 5.5 inches is just ... too large to comfortably use with one hand. And so I'm having this internal dilemma about whether or not I should return the phone, pay the restocking fee, and get a normal S7 that I know I can comfortably use with one hand, or try to muscle it out and hope that I get use to holding something just a bit outside my comfort range.

I've tried the Edge features. They're neat, but as everyone here probably knows, they're not must haves. The more efficient use of real-estate with the curved screen is the real attraction of the edge model. I just don't understand why they didn't offer a 5.1 inch version of the S7 edge. I would have been quite happy with that.

What do you guys think I should do? Ultimately, I need to make a decision quickly, as I haven't sent in the stuff for the BOGO and the VR, and I'm running out of time.

I have small hands and what I noticed is that the S7 is slightly more narrow and more tall than the S5, making it easier to hold. The S7 Edge was too tall and I'd have to two hand it, or like the S5 and what you do, balance it in my palm. And let's just say, that's how I ended up with scuffed edges on my S5 and then finally a broken screen. Me personally, I'd try it out if you could (or even handle an S6, it's about the same size as the S7). I refuse to balance a phone in my hand again.

Hmm, you guys do make an interesting case, especcially on how the extra size of the S7 Edge is mostly in the height. Then again, my mother got a normal S7, and it feels significantly more natural in my hand.

My independent testi g between the two devices has yeilded unexpected results. With the higher pixel density, I expected youtube videos to be more impressive on the normal S7. So far, the S7 Edge has presented a more vibrant and impressive picture to me while watching youtube than the normal S7.

I'm still undecided. I guess I wish I was made of money and could buy both devices, or rather ... that the curved edge screen came in an 5.1 inch version like it did last year. I have no interest in a phablet. If I want a big screen viewing experience, I'll use my tablet. I don't want these big screens on my mobile device.
