Help Galaxy sIII, micro sd problem

Hi everyone,
I have a Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy SIII. Recently, I purchased a Samsung 64gb micro SD card. I formatted using the phone. I have been having nothing but problems with it. If I transfer media to it from my PC, have of it doesn't work. I just used ES file explorer to transfer all of my pictures from my internal memory to my sd card and now everything in that file is corrupt. This is the second 64 gb sd card I have attempted to use. Now, not only have I lost years of pictures and videos from what was on prior sd cards, I have lost everything from my phone. I am at my wits end with these 64gb cards and I'm about to give up on it. When I install large games on my phone, half the time they don't work either. Any suggestions to fix my problem would be awesome. Thanks in advanced for any help!
 
Where did you buy the cards? EBay?

There's an app called H2Testw which will check the cards to see if it's an error on the card or elsewhere.

Run that and report back with the results.
 
The first one was a kingston but I'm fairly certain is was a knock off. My current one I ordered from amazon but it is an official samsung card. I'm running the program now, will let you know results.
 
Fakes are an issue on Amazon too, especially if it's via one of their 3rd Party Vendors (the vendor may not even know it's fake).

Let me know what the test says, but when I get to a PC, I'll dig out the review I found which tells you how to spot a fake Samsung.

sd insight shows SD CARD IS INVALID for manufacturer, model N/A, size 67GB, and manufacture date MAR 2014. So basically I am guessing I got scammed not once but twice on fake cards. Looks like I'm just going to go to best buy. this is ****ing ridiculous.
 
The app I linked above will tell you who really made the card in about a second.

If it's a Samsung then it's truly defective.

If not, it's counterfeit.

It's one of the pitfalls of buying memory online. If you're buying from Amazon, make sure it's from Amazon, not the Amazon marketplace.

There are a lot of scumbags out there, but some of the time, the people selling the fake cards don't even know they're selling fakes.

And the scumbags who do know use the same excuse and then argue about what's broken with your device - usually followed by an offer to contact the manufacturer to clear up the "mystery" with your phone.

That's all it takes to satisfy Amazon and eBay management and stay in business.
 
Thanks for the help guys! I contacted the seller and surprisingly (though he wouldn't admit it was a fake) he offered me a refund of the purchase and the shipping and paid for the return shipping. I went to Walmart and just bought an 64gb Samsung sdxc card and insight verifies it's real lol.
