Help galaxy tab 10.1 gt p7500 freezes a lot.

i just got this samsung galaxy tab and it works great. but i noticed the last five days it starts to freeze for a long time up to 30min.
First i tought it happened because i plugged it to the charger, but today i opened facebook and it worked normally, but i opened this message and it freezes without plugging it.
I used to wait until the screen goes dark and i click the unlock button, but this time i did the same and the screen become bright but still freezing :(. Finally, after 15 min, it showed the lock screen so i opened. this happened a few minutes ago. should i reset?:confused:

Hello mimi. There are several possibilities:

  • Unstable application
  • Low internal memory
  • Multiple applications or widgets running at the same time
  • Your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 software may need updating

The first thing to do is think about when you first saw the bad behavior, with an eye toward any new applications or widgets you may have installed or reconfigured around the same time. Go into the Application Manager and clear cache and data on any 3rd party (non-stock that came with the tab out of the box) app/widget. Then shut down and restart the tab.

If the problems go away, you can brainstorm a bit on which app or widget caused the issue.. just watch for the behavior and uninstall them one at a time until the issues cease.

Another common freeze causing issue is too many services running in the background at the same time. This happens most often when there are apps and widgets set to auto sync and they drain resources to the point of device screen shutdowns. Set as many apps/widgets as you can to not sync until you click the app/widget: "sync on demand" rather than auto sync. This will keep resources fresh and available to needed programs in the system, and will also allow slower battery drain.

It's also possible that you may be seeing a bug in the system that an Over The Air ("OTA") update remedies. Check by clicking the main menu, then "about device," then "updates," or some such wording. "Check new," etc.

I hope this helps you. Let us know how things are going. You can always do a factory data reset from within the device menu, as I'm sure you have seen. ;)
