Help galaxy tab 3 8.0 firmware update

brosko

Android Enthusiast
so yesterday I hooked up my tab 3 8.0 to kies and it tells me that there is a firmware update, but that you will lose all settings apps etc., so I was reluctant to update.
anybody know what update this was? is it true that if I do this firmware update I will lose all that I have done to "customize" my tablet? could it be 4.3?

I had an update pushed to my Tab 3 8.0 two days ago (not using Kies) and I did not lose any Apps or existing settings.

And, No it was not 4.3...still 4.2.2.

Thats nice to know. I just got done setting my tablet up the way I want it and it would really suck to have to do it all over again after an update. Thanks!

I just read on xda developers galaxy samsung tab 3 forum that a couple of folks messed up their TAB 3 5.0 after running the update. I did not have any problem with the update, but I guess a word of caution is necessary.

I didn't notice anything different at all. I haven't read the patch notes though to specifically know what was changed. But like I said, I haven't noticed any difference with my use.

If you look in Settings>Applications, it now shows a list of Apps that you moved to your SD Card.

That's the only difference I've noticed so far.
