Help Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Video Player Issues

I am unable to open the video player app just by selecting it from the home screen and from the apps screen, but when I go into My Files and select a video and select to open it with Video Player, the app opens just fine. Any ideas why this is happening or how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try clearing the cache in the video player app and/or restarting the device.
