Gallery album deleted

Note 8

Lurker
Tonight isn't the first time thus has occurred, just the first time oon my galaxy note 8. I had screen shots of various things I had looked up and done on files that just showed up on my phone, under Samsung Files. I had just taken a screen shot of a new file that was suspect. Go into look at it to get the name and look it up and my entire album is gone. No other album nor any individual picture is missing.

Any thoughts on how this happened? I did not do anything after taking the pic but look at Instagram for a quick visit, put the phone down to get a drink and then picked it up to look at the pic so I could investigate online for info on it. Go into gallery and the album is gone.

Are you saying that the screenshots folder disappeared from the gallery?

Have a look in your file manager (called 'my files' on Samsung devices) under device storage/pictures/screenshots.

Yes the entire album disappeared, under my files also. Happened again last night. Same situation and conditions.

Welcome to Android Forums!

We have a dedicated forum for the Galaxy Note 8 - other users would be interested in this issue. Someone may be able to help you. I have the Note 8, and this sort of concerns me... I definitely don't want any gallery images or screenshots deleting themselves! That's why I love Photos backup: but why your phone is wiping out folders is beyond me. I have to wonder if the folder is switching to "hidden" somehow...

Is that to imply that it happened on the phone that you had before the note 8?

Do you by any chance have an app that deletes 'unnecessary' files? Like some kind of 'cleaning' app or something?
