Help Gallery App?

Is there a way to prevent the gallery app from collecting pictures and videos from the entire phone? I just want to see the pictures and videos captured by the phone not EVERY app.. IE: no picasa, no audiobook covers, no downloaded youtube videos. Ect.

Or is there a better replacement app for the gallery that works that way?

I've seen a thread already on this topic (either here or xda-developers); IIRC the solution was an app that restricted where Gallery looked.

I did a search and found quickpic, it lets you hide folders to prevent searches. Or you can use a .nomedia file in folders you do not want search.
