Help gallery has stopped

I have a huawei valiant(metro PCs) and the gallery(camera) has stopped. I have had this phone reset to factory once already b/c play store did same thing. How do you stop a service and restart it w/o resetting to factory?

If it were me, I'd install Quick Pic (free at Play) - which I have on every one of my phones. I think the Gallery is a terrible app.
 
No not rooted. And I would stop service if I knew how to restart it.Also I can get to my pictures, its the actual camera that stopped working with that message.
 
Just looked at the apps. Can't find camera in there either...

But to stop and start services you find the app and force close. Restarting would just be opening the app again.

Do you know how to check your ram space? It's very possible you're running out of ram and just don't have the available memory to run the app

Just wanted to let you know that I got it to work!! Yay me!
Here's what I did
I went manage apps, to all running process, cleared the data, forced stopped the app, and restarted the phone.
