Gallery not sending

I used the phone's camera to shoot some photos and videos. Then I sent them with Gmail, or thought I did. The photos got through ok, but not the videos.

What can I do to overcome that, besides getting that version? I don't really want to spend a lot of money on apps. Is there a free alternative?

Upload the videos to Google Drive, Dropbox or whatever, and email a link to the uploaded files. Then you or whoever the recipient may be can download them using the link rather than having to email a huge file.

Ok, I uploaded them to Google drive. It shows the email address saved from and then a string of numbers for each with .mp4 at the end. How would we download them from there?

If I open the Drive app on my phone and press the 3-dot button next to a video I have options including "copy link", "send a copy" and "download". And if I view a file in Drive using a browser I can see a download icon. So depending on who you want to download it some combination of those should give you a way of doing it.

I looked to see if it was on drive, but it wasn't there. I tried to download Dropbox, which seems to have partly worked. Do these all have to be downloaded on both the pc and the phone?
