[GAME][FREE] Words with clans

We want to announce alfa-testing start of our word game for android mobile devices. In the next posts, we'll put details about the game and how you can take a part in alfa-testing. We'll let you know here about the game rules, show screenshots and describe game play circles.

“Words with clans” is the game where you create words from any letters. Each game played on 11x11 tiles game board, where there are 2 random starting words crossing the center tile of the game board. When its your turn to make move, you have to put any new letters on tiles to form and submit new words.

Sounds good and easy right? There are few main terms:

Each move you do in play against other players, you can add to the game board up to 3 new letters to form and submit up to 7 words per move.

A move can be described as the combination of three phases:

- Put new letter(s) on game board

- Submit words

- Block/unblock tiles by ROCK-SCISSORS-PAPER chips, to make difficulties for your opponents (optional phase)

When you submit at least one word – you can finish your move. Taping on this icon

If you submit more words, you can get more points for your Score.

As you put letters on tiles and submit words, you receive score prediction in the information field under the game board.

HOW TO PLACE LETTERS:

Tap on ABC icon or on any free tile on the game board, choose the letter you need, drag and drop it. To be able to submit words, you place new letters (orange colored) next to old letters (dark colored).

HOW TO SUBMIT WORDS:

After you put at least one new letter next old one, tap “Submit” to enter this phase. Now tap or slide on letters of the word you want to submit from very first to the last and then confirm it.

Be sure, that every new word you want to submit, consists of at least one new and few old letters. As you submitted one word, you can submit next one. Up to 7 words per one move. If you see 8 words but you submitted 7, you can edit your submitted words list to add more valuable word and delete less valuable.

You can form and submit words that consists of letters that stay not as straight line. It can be like broken line switching directions (follow connectors between letters). Letters chain of the words you submit can go from right to left too and can go up from down.

HOW TO BLOCK TILES FOR YOUR OPPONENT (optional phase):

There are two main reasons for you to block tiles before you finish your move:

- Get conversion of resources

- Make it difficult for your opponent to make good move with big score

You can block tiles with help of ROCK, SCISSORS, PAPER chips that you have on your account. One tile can be blocked by only ROCK or SCISORS or PAPER type of chips. You can put up to 99 chips on every free tile you want to block your opponent’s free access to it.

Every time you put 3 chips to block tiles, you get conversion at the end of your move, receiving 1 unit of POWER resource. So put sum of 15 chips and you’ll get 5 POWER unit for your account as conversion.

Remember, that all the chips you put as blocks will be lost for you (spent) when you finish your move.

HOW TO UNBLOCK TILES:

When its your move and you see that your opponent blocked tiles that you need to make valuable words, you can use your own ROCK, SCISSORS, PAPER chips to unblock these tiles. So, you see what type of chips your rival put on tiles but you cant see how many of them.

First you have to choose right type of chips for unblocking action, then you should beat all the rival chips.

Remember chips properties:

1 chip of ROCK can unblock 1 chip of SCISSORS

1 chip of SCISSORS can unblock 1 chip of PAPER

1 chip of PAPER can unblock 1 chip of ROCK

If you see rival’s ROCK chips on tile, You put few PAPER on this tile, if after this action you steel see ROCK ships on tile – add some more PAPER chips until you see that ROCK chips are gone and information field under the game board let you know that you set it free.

Remember, that conversion to POWER resource you get only for blocking tiles. Unblocking is not the subject for conversion.

But if you see that you can put new letters on free tiles and submit words without bothering about unblocking tiles, - so don’t bother to waste your chips. Just make your move using free tiles.

POINTS BONUSES FOR YOUR MOVES:

As you make your moves you can add massive amount of points to your score, receiving different bonuses.

Bonus tiles – every letter has point value, every word you submit has point value as a sum of letters points.

And every word value can be increased if you put new letters on colored tiles. These colored tiles can make letters value become twice bigger x2 or triple letter value x3, but there are tiles that also can make the value x2 or x3 for whole word. Don’t try to calculate – the game score prediction in info field under the game board will do it for you – just try different variations to get more points. Use it.


Effectiveness bonuses –

if you put only one new letter to submit new words – you get great bonus to your score, if you use 2 new words – bonus will be good but not great, even if you use 3 letter you’ll get bonus, nut it will be small.

If you submit 5 or 6 or 7 words – you’ll get bonus for this. More words – bigger bonus.

If the longest word you submit is long enough – you’ll get bonus for this too. 5 letters word submitted is good to get bonus from word length.


Moving Stars bonuses –

There are three stars, that are moving through free tiles every moves circle (your move + opponent’s move). If you put new letters on tile with a star and submit a word, you’ll get bonus amount of points that is shown on star.

PLAYER’S GAME RESOURCES:

"GAMES screen and GAME RESOURCES AT THE TOP"

All resources and its numbers that you own you can see at the head of the GAMES screen.

CHIPS – Rock, Scissors, Paper chips you need to block/unblock tiles on game board. Where to get more chips? Check CHANCE section of the application main menu ;-)

POWER – special resource that is accumulating by player during the week. Each Monday is starting challenge to title of MOST POWERFUL PLAYER of the week. More power you get by Sunday at midnight - better your position in final TOP chart of this challenge. You can win Trophy for you trophy room.

Power you can get in two ways – finish games and get 10% of your score number as POWER to your account, and second way – block tiles with more chips, block tiles more often and get 1 POWER for every 3 chips you put to block tiles.

COINS – game currency to spend it in game shop purchasing cards with goodies and for opening clan boosts.

HOW TO START PLAYING GAMES:

You can accept the invitation from other player.

You’ll receive push notification if other player want to play the game with you, or check up INCOMING INVITATIONS section in GAMES screen.

"NEW GAME SETUP"

You can start new game with other player. Tap on NEW GAME from GAMES screen to enter new game setup. Set Vocabulary language, time limit for each move, and chose method of searching the opponent for you. You can just use RANDOM methods for start, choose opponent and tap on PLAY button to the right from the player information.

Surfing different section of GAMES screen you can see game cards with games you are playing (you can play max 5 games at the same time). At the right end of game card you can see icon that gives the access to additional options. Also on game card you can see countdown timer that shows how much time for the move left, current score in this game, vocabulary language of this game, opponent’s clan logo, opponent’s picture.

Press player picture to enter their profile – check their stats, achievements, trophies, compare it with yours by taping COMPARE US

When you are in other player profile you can add this player to your FRIEND list or BLACK list (lists can be edited through Main menu section SHORT LISTS), you can send message to the player, or start new game.

When you start the new game with other player you should make first move, finish it, and it will be sent as INCOMING INVITATION to the player. At the same time this game will be shown at your OUTGOING INVITATION section in GAMES screen. When the invitation is accepted, the game card will be transferred to OPPONENT’S MOVE section.


WHEN THE GAME IS OVER?

"GAME OVER - WON RESOURCES"

- When there is no free tiles on game board (winner is the player with bigger score)

- When we’ve got two passes one by one from both players (winner is the player with bigger score)

If score is even, player with bigger number of finished games win this game too.

- When a player didn’t manage to make move inside move time limit (no matter of score, this player will lose this game)

- When a player resigns (capitulates) - (no matter of score, this player will lose this game)

CHALLENGES AND MINIGAMES:

As you play games, you’re automatically taking a part in different challenges. Each challenge main goal to get bigger value in particular actions or gaming results.

The game follow your stats and your positions in every single Challenge TOP.

"TOPs SCREEN"

When challenge time is over – you will receive trophies of different classes depending on the final place you have in Challenge TOP chart.

"CHALLENGE TOP"

There are different periods for different challenges- 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks periods. When a challenge is finished, next one starts immediately. But you’ll find some time to look at your trophy through your profile screen

"MINI GAME WINDOW"

When you short of chips you can play mini-games in CHANCE screen from main menu of the application. You can use it every 20 minutes. You are not to lose there, but you can increase the winning chips number if you are lucky enough.
