Considering the quantity and quality of games available for the Gameboy Advance, and emulator for the Android OS may very well be the most entertaining game download available for any phone.

The download does not come with any games, which must be downloaded prior to actual use. Android will not allow for downloads directly from most sites, so the easiest thing to do is download it directly to your computer and transfer it to the SD card.

The program is easy to use and very responsive, if you have a slide out keyboard. For those phones that do not come with a slide out keyboard, on screen buttons are a usable alternative, though this makes it impossible to use the quick save and quick load buttons. Also, if you have an older phone like the G1, the game may occasionally become unresponsive due to lack of resources, for several seconds.

The top tier games for phones usually involve mindless repetitive tasks designed by one programmer in about 15 hours. The games available for free online for Gameboy Advance emulators have been developed by professional teams with commercial equipment and budgets. Simply put, there is no more complete and entertaining game app available for any phone anywhere. Gameboy Advance was the last game medium designed to be portable that is feasible for an emulator on a phone, and this app does it very well, if you have a keyboard.

I installed Gameboid Emulator with no problem and I installed the Bios and a handfull of games. I've only tried 6 games so far. 4 of them worked flawlessly. But 2 of them would not open/start at all. My question is simply if those games didn't work, but the rest did and they all come from the same source (coolroms), does that mean those games just aren't going to work or is it possible that the ROM is bad and should I try downloading those games from a different ROM source and see if they work?

I guess my more general question is just are there some games that just won't work on the phone regardless of how good the emulator is just because of certain system limitations or whatever?
Thanks for any info!

This is the biggest problem with these emulators. You really need the physical feel and feedback of an actual controller. Phone buttons just aren't that great of a substitute for a D-pad or joystick. :|

Has anyone had any luck getting the cheats feature to work? I've seen numerous threads on the web, but they're all full of questions, no solutions.
