Games not working on Xioami Mi Box

I have xioami MI Box running on android TV ver 6.0.1 the game Asphalt 8 is not working at all, after configuration part (download of extra package) i'm in Select Language screen, but i'm unable to select or change language and therefore can't start the game.
is this a known issue? can it be solved?

You got the latest version? Although Gameloft might have only written and tested it for phone or tablet compatibility. It may have been written expecting to have a touchscreen and accelerometer, and the MI Box has neither.

If it's an issue of you can't select things on the screen to start and play, try a mouse with the box.

so gameloft isn't creating a game design for android TV? it is in the play store under games for TV....

I did edit the post as I had a thought. Try a PC mouse with it, that should allow it to click the selections.
