I have been a loyal Swype user since the early betas and never thought I would switch. Lately I have been increasingly frustrated over lack of flexibility in editing the dictionaries. While cruising this forum I noticed a mention of "Ultra Keyboard." This baby completely passed under my radar (guess I spend too much time focusing on rooting). Decided to give it a try and needless to say I am impressed.
Ultra Keyboard has more features than I have time to list. There are multiple keyboard layout ranging from space saving T9 to having everything (arrow, letters and numbers) all on the same screen. It has an amazing obtrusive tool bar to translate to other languages (50 available downloadable free dictionaries), speech to text, on the fly skin and theme support. The dictionary is a snap to modify and you can instantly hide/unhide the keyboard using gestures. Oh yea, this keyboard does swype but it is called "tracing."
So far I have not run into any issues on my overclocked DroidX. The program is selling for $2.79 in the market with a trial version available. It is nice to see my DroidX learn new tricks
