is there a single emulator out that will play all 3 gameboy roms well? or am I going to have to get seperate ones for each.

You going to have to get two different ones.
gameboid (gba) and gbcoid (which plays both gameboy and gameboy color)
Here are apps you need. If you need help with gameboid which need bios check out other thread with a person asking for help for the atrix.

^even tho there is the one that plays all of them, I recommend getting MyBoy or GBAoid and GBCoid... Those are the best... Have in mind some games work better on MyBoy, some on the GBAoid... GBCoid is great for all games and all games work perfectly
