Help General Question(s) Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 - Copy and Paste

First I'm very new to smart phones:

I use the application called Handcent SMS, if I hold down the Message bubble when texting I have an option menu appear > Message Options > Copy Message Text.

1) Question: Where does it save the copied text to and how can I paste it to lets say another app like the already built in Phone Book.

2) What is a good place to see a list of function apps for the Droid, and why is the latest build still 1.6 when other phones already have 2.2? (sorry if that question has been asked before.

1. It saves it to the system clipboard (like on your computer). Then if you press and hold on a text field in the phone book, a pop up menu will appear and you can press paste.

2. I'm not sure on the first part on this question, but the answer to the second part is because Sony has not released Android OS 2.0+ for your phone. Whether or not you will get it or not, is up to Sony. But since its a more recent phone, you should get the update sooner or later.
