General questions/concerns before buying

I'll start by saying my search fu probably sucks.

I have a note 3 - had it for 2 mostly OK years. I miss my moto razr max - yes really. Samsung manages to occasionally screw up a wet dream

Sorry but I will never - ever buy another samsung consumer product ever again. microwave, fridge, Blu Ray player, etc. It's a longer story that I need to get into.

Now that said - Looking at a few options and one of those is the G5. I actually intend to buy one direct and outside of my carrier if I can get away with it.

My 2 main things - Android version and updating; Addon camera and sound processor

1) android version - if I see this right the phones come out of the box with 6.1 something. Will it get 7 with any sort of ease. Is the phone easy to root? (honestly that might not matter anyway)

2) has there been any pricing for the camera addon and the supposed addon sound processor? I've seen the camera piece - I think I'd like it - have no idea if or when I could get one.

I don't believe LG has officially announced Android7 Nougat for the LG G5 just yet,but,it's safe to say it will get it.
As to when,too early to call...................

The sound module is only available in certain markets & is not compatible w/US models.

well that sucks. it's funny I thought the camera module was going to improve the camera on the device with a better lens, sensor element etc.

didn't realize it was only some buttons and a battery to use as a hand hold. not bad overall but not what I expected.

Does anyone on here have the camera module and use it extensively?
