Generally confused with this site

I recently asked about sd cards in the Android Lounge because I felt that I was asking a question that was general enough that anyone could help me with it. I didn't think it was specific to my phone. Also, when I searched for similar issues, a senior member suggested to someone else that they ask their SD card question in the lounge. But my thread was moved to the purgatory that is the LG Vortex forum without anyone telling me what I had done wrong. (by the way, are the admins for each forum listed somewhere? I haven't seen them listed at the top of each forum like on most other sites) So, could someone explain what I did wrong?

And the reason why I referred to the LG Vortex forum as a purgatory is that over 25% of the threads in there are unanswered. (I just counted those on the first page - 14 out of 50) Though, I do feel better knowing that it's not just me that's talking to an empty room.

The Android Lounge is supposed to be used for general Android chat, not support questions (although a few end up there sometimes). Generally if a phone/tablet is mentioned and it's a support question, the thread will get moved to that devices subforum to keep things tidy. Your question fell into that category and was moved.

Whilst we technically don't have a list of mods/guides for each of the specific device forums, there is a list of all the site staff here: Android Forums - Show Groups. Moderators are red, Guides are green. Guides have their own sections and also tend to float about a bit. Some sections do get missed unfortunately, but we try to visit as many of the forums as possible, sorry your question appears to have slipped through the net. In future, feel free to drop any of the guides a PM if you don't believe your threads are getting the attention they deserve

Hello saintdismas. In case you have not yet read my PM to you, I'll respond here, too:

I was the one who moved your thread out of Android Lounge and into the Vortex device forum for you, but seeing your concern now, I don't blame you for wanting your query in the Android Lounge instead of a device forum where there is much less participation. I'll be happy to move that thread back to the Android Lounge for you.

Sometimes we get going on tidying the place up in an idealistic sort of way, and then something like this happens and it proves that we can be just plain wrong.

I'm glad I ran across this in here today, it gives us a chance to undo something that a member did not like done in the first place.

And, as El Presidente said, pease feel free to PM me or a Moderator or the Admin, Phases, any time you feel that an action by a Guide or other Staffer seems not quite right to you; here at Android Forums the members rule!

Thanks for the responses, both of you!

I run a forum for a local club and admin another, so I understand wanting to keep things tidy and in the correct forum.

Since the Android Lounge says that it's for general Android discussion, I thought my thread would be good there. I didn't see anything that said it wasn't for support. I thought the SD card issue wasn't device dependent but mentioned my phone model just to cover my bases.
