Get Better battery life, Vid

Would be interested in hearing your views about some of the tips, especially the CPU Clock app as it is something that I would normally stay well clear off.

But.......maybe interested if I can save a bit more battery life.

Thanks for the tip - using the SetCPU app and I must admit, the results are pretty impressive. Phone at 75% remaining after 8 hours.

Anybody care to share their settings that are being used?

My profiles are:
Charging - 998 max; 245 min
Sleep/Standby - 245 max & min
Power (<20%) - 768 max, 245 min

Set on boot ticked. Max frequency 998400; Min 245000.

Happy bunny at moment :D

exactly what mine is set to, but JUST rooted so havent had a chance to really see the results...im excited!

good info. ppl who say task killers are bad are crazy . Remember; all apps are not coded equally ;)

Anyone try getting all of these and trying them out? Sucks that we have to spend money on apps just to make the battery longer. Is it really worth it?

You would think google will roll some of these features into a futue update of android. Compelling reason to root if this does not happen in the coming months.

so i did this and i dont see much of a difference. I may not have the best task killer but it does the job. What about my Lookout Security program? Does that drain the life out of my battery?

so much for the Nexus throttling the CPU by default... sad that rooting is needed to accomplish this... i'm not about to root... since i'm not sure i'm gonna keep the Nexus...

tempted to root for this app alone... battery life is pitiful and needs all the help it can get...

anyone have any major issues after having rooted and installed setcpu?

Well, I rooted, am using Cyanogen 5.0.4.1 & have SetCPU installed and working (only on the Profiles bit).....

While I had some initial confusion as to some aspects of the UI and setup, now, all works sweet.

At 14hrs, I have 32% left of battery, after having made 50 minutes phone calls and Wifi switched on and connected most of the day in the office. Plus bluetooth connected for 30 minutes. Plus the usual texting, googletalk, bit of surfing and accessing RSS news feeds thru NewsRob.

Combined, the Cyanogen ROM & SetCPU are a pretty powerful combination IMHO.

Wife's giving me a slap - got to go. PM if you want to ask any more questions>.......

i rooted yesterday, and i have everything setup exactly how i want it. this phone rapes the face of any other phone now. i love it.

finally rooted... in part for this, in part to finally try out the Desire ROM.... so now that I can run setCPU, we'll see how well it helps in improving battery life... I have no doubts that it will help - the Snapdragon is a battery hog - but hopefully it will be noticeable... ;)

Default (the values at the very top): 998 max, 245 min
Charging: 998 Max, 499 Min
Sleep/Standby: 384 Max, 245 Min
Power<20%: 499 Max, 245 Min
Failsafe (batt > 50 C): 245 Max, 245 Min

we'll see how this goes after a few days... just installed this afternoon so to early to tell just yet...

i love the idea of this but have no desire to root my phone... coming from a jailbroken 3gs i still have no desire to root my nexus one

Im not saying everything in that video was fake, 13 hour run time is normal if you dont use it. When he showed what used his battery, I immediatly stopped the video because he is lieing. He didnt have wifi on the whole day because the battery usage would say different if he had it on the whole time. He was not texting/using 3g at all, again if he was, his usage would say different.

Yes I do have a droid insted of a nexus one, but android 2.0.1 and 2.1 arnt THAT much different. And im pretty sure his ROM doesnt block items from his battery usage.

The general info he gives is good, but he didnt use his phone much at all the day he recorded that video.
