Getting asked for sim card pin

Hi, I'm in Portugal and after I put in a local sim card it asked for the sim's pin number and after I entered it all was well.

But after I exchanged batteries it asked me again.

Try one of three ..

Is there a way to stop this? It never happened before.

If it's what I'm thinking of, there should be an option in the settings menu.
Settings > Security > sim card lock.

I just checked and the lock sim card box was checked.

I unchecked the box and was asked to enter the sim number which I did and it accepted it. Then I took the battery out and reinserted it after which I was asked to enter the code again.

I had the same problem but with a SD card, its locked, when I try to use it, it ask for a pin.
