Getting bit tv app to work on Android tv box

just wondered if anybody knows how I can get the BT TV app to allow live TV playback on an Android TV box I have? BT Sport is fine, BT TV app launches but when trying to play a TV channel you get due to security reasons you cannot play live TV then gives an error of GS014.

I suspect there's a list of known and approved devices it runs on. "security reasons" is very likely because of DRM. Sky Go can be the same

Cheapo imported Android box from unknown manufacturer in China, is basically "BT TV doesn't know what device this is, is it rooted, we can't be sure of maintaining secure DRM on our live stream."

I very much suspect the BT TV app is assuming your Android box is one of those, because it doesn't recognise a known manufacturer and device, e.g. Samsung.

Yeah pretty much thought that myself, wondered that as the box is no doubt rooted, can i do anything to make the app work? Like get the box to tell the app its a Samsung tablet or something

It doesn't have to be rooted for the BT TV app to reject it. It's basically not recognising it as an approved or whitelisted secure device for ensuring their DRM. I'm pretty sure it can't be spoofed either. Only peeps who can really do anything about it are BT TV.
