I've had to "re-do" my Google calendar several times in finding a good tool that will sync my Outlook calendar to my Google calendar and then syncing down from that to my Android phone.
It seems like the Android copy doesn't attempt to have exactly what's in the Google calendar, but only adds to it from the Google calendar.
I now have 3-4 copies of some appointments and I see no way of clearing these out. I'd be happy if I could just entirely empty my calendar and start fresh, but there's no apparent way to do this.
I have the same issue with the contacts I synchronize.
