getting two copies of gmail mail

i just got my incredible yesterday, so i apologize if this is a bit noobish, but im getting two copies of my Gmail mail on my phone, one in the mail thing and one via the gmail app

i also have an email account from my google apps hosted email

but i cant seem to stop the gmail app from showing me the email too

how do i stop it?

Sounds like you have your Gmail account setup in the email app as well as in the phone account settings. The easiest thing to do, and most likely what you'll want to do, is remove the account from the email app configuration. If for some reason you want your Gmail to show up only in the email app, then from the Home screen go to Menu / Settings / Accounts & sync, select your Gmail account, and uncheck Sync Gmail.
