Help Gingerbread 2.3.6 Endless Sync

My dopey Ascend 2 is always showing that it's syncing. If I turn 3G off or go into airplane mode, it stops of course, but then comes right back when I return. I've tried the usual stuff like deleting calendar settings.

This happened last year; uninstalling MyYahoo cured it. That's still gone but the endless sync has returned... what to do.

OK.My next move, until you get a better answer, would be to use a Battery Saver app that disables syncing.I'm testing out Battery Booster Pro(Free version). You can use one of it's preset modes or make a custom one to do what you need/want.

I thanked you because that's a good idea and I should have thought of it, but no, it didn't work.

If it comes back on one of your apps may be re-enabling it :)

PS
I use a small widget to soft turn off my screen called,"EZ Screen Off" as I have my phone in a wallet case and don't like using the physical button on the side. This has an option to disable syncing when it turns the screen off.

HTH :)

Yes, that and a connection widget to keep data off also kills it. But so far, my lucky guess is working...

I just went to accounts & sync, unchecked everything, re-checked them, so far so good.

And still so good. Apparently my shot in the dark hit the target dead on... and now I'll have to pay for saying that.

Good news.Perhaps the reboot unlocked/refreshed something. It does no harm to do a full reboot from time to time an let the phone refresh. It's the same with any operating system I've found over the years and thanks for reporting back :smokingsomb:
