[].../!\...[_]

I AM NOT HAPPY!

LOL, OMG that is so funny! So happy and sure of yourself, and then the disappointment... I had to take a screenshot of it. :) Seriously, I'm not having a go at you, or trying to be a troll or anger you... look at the two posts objectively like I am... it's FUNNY! :D

yeah real funny :P hahahahahaaa!

All good, I have had nothing but trouble with the phone, lags like a b!tch and always hangs and restarts itself or crashes. UnRooted and running official fimware since new in August last year (still under warranty....just) good excuse for an upgrade to maybe a iPhone4, Moto Atrix or a HTC

MachineCode, no offense taken mate, Unlike some people round forums, I take the piss but can also cop it too ;)

According to their Twitter page, Optus Australia has now released a gingerbread update for Samsung Galaxy S. The update appears on my Kies software, but it's taking AGES to load.

Let's hope it works =)

Ooooh, this sounds potentially dangerous.

My GT-I9000 16GB SGS (on Optus) Firmware: PDA:JP5 / PHONE:JP3 / CSC:JP4 (OPS) often runs so poorly I am keen to load any official update through Kies.

Checked the firmware using a fairly recent version of Kies just several days ago and it offered no update, will check again soon and research more too.

SSAR - The official update is there as that is how I did it. Through Kies on the PC and that is what bricked my phone. I am not the only one to experience this it seems, Kies is the likely culprit as it crashes during update multiple times.

Mine is in for repairs and gets sent away on Monday. They are going to update it to 2.3 for me too they said.... How nice of them to do that for me :/

Kies finally updated my software. It took three failed attempts (something about the PC not detecting the phone), but finally, it updated.

Gingerbread runs a lot better than Froyo, too. Still the occasional lag, but nowhere near as bad or frequent as before.
