Give me a good reason to get the G1 deciding this weekend

Hello,

I'm about to pick a new contract with mobile and I just cant chose a mobile. I'm a student and I'm in public transport quit a lot so web browsing is a important feature for me to kill time.

I just cant chose between the following mobiles: Nokia 5800XM, SE X1 and the G1.

Please give me some arguments why I should chose the G1 since with all the bad reviews about the battery time etc i feel like choosing for the G1 is like being a stubborn idiot still choosing something you know gots problems.

Oh main question will it last me 2 years! I will pick it up with a 2 year contract and I never buy phones just get one with a new contract.

A two year contract? definitely not but that's just my opinion but I really don't think the G1 is a phone for longevity. It is the First "Early Adopters" and it's good but not fantastic and personally I think they used a 4yr old design just to get it out there.
 
Well I can also buy it with a 1 year contract but the phone will cost me 125 euro. But maybe thats a smarter choise since there will probably be alot more (and beter) android phones in a year.
 
I feel like this sort of question is avoidance of responsibility.

You know what you want, you've obviously read up on the device, so, does it do what you want?


We can only say how happy we are with it (or not), eventually you will have to decide if this is the phone for you. No one is better qualified than you to make that decision. So trust yourself and pick the phone you feel is best.
 
I have always used nokia's and they never let me down but following a minor interactive marketing made me curious to the possibilities of the new smart phones these days. Guess I already chose the G1 but i just want to hear some arguments to strengthen that :P
 
get the G1, use it for the 14 day trial period or for however long it is for you. then if you dont like it, return it before the that return policy ends. having a market for new apps is way bad ass. though nokias are bad ass phones. lol, my old brick nokia from like 1999 still worked when i took it out of storage the other day.
 
Don't think we have such thing as a trial period here... :confused: But i decided i grab the G1 with a 1 year contract i just keep my nokia E65 as backup phone for when i need the longer battery life
 
Get the G1, I've been very please with mine. If you really don't like it, they still sell for about $350 on ebay, and that will buy a nice replacement.
 
Personally in your situation I wouldnt of got the g1 cos u on public transport always using ur browser to kill time will kill ur battery too, u'll be charging it like 3 times a day lol... or keep ur e65 with u for when ur batt dies
