Help Give me one reason why I shouldn't switch to iPhone?

I've always been a hardcore android fan. Have always endorsed it and recommended it since the time of Motorola milestone (one of the first well developed android devices launched). The Samsung galaxy series were a revolution and galaxy sii was a legend. But after two years and an android upgrade to jellybean my phone started freezing, battery heating up and the phone practically crashing. After a few frustrating months I bought the galaxy note iii. I followed the news like a madman, waiting for the day I might purchase it. I loved the Note iii stylus and the functionality and multitasking feature. People envied my purchase. And in a year it started all over again. Least my Sii lasted three years. My note iii is crashing through the day. It won't even last half a day. I'm tired of the Samsungs bloating crapware. I've disabled the extra apps done a factory reset twice (losing most of my data despite "backup"). After the lollipop update it just overheats and crashes on standby. Despite everything there is to love about it, what am I to do with a phone that doesn't even last through the day. I could buy note edge but I'm guessing in two years it'd do what my note iii is doing now. iPhone might not have all the cool features as am android. But at least it'll last me through the day. My mum gifted me an ipad which I practically ignored for weeks. But it's functional simplicity was quite touching. And it's battery backup was awesome. I'll be missing my note iii if I switch to iPhone. But Samsung is sorely to blame for the crappiness of their devices. I jus want a phone where I can access the net, read articles and watch movies. A phone that lasts through the day.

OK, so, you had a Motorola Milestone, 2009 technology, followed by a string of Samsungs, and you've equated Samsung failures with Android.

If you're not interested in trying other fine handsets not plagued by Samsung problems, then indeed, perhaps it's time for you to try an iPhone.

Maybe you'll like it better.

I wish you nothing but happiness because none of these makers are our friends - make them earn our money, that's what I say.

Please do us a favor if you go that way - if anyone asks, remember that your complaints were with Samsung, not Android.

Cheers and best wishes! :)

User-friendliness is largely a matter of what you are used to. Actually that's a serious point: changing platforms, or even changing Android manufacturers, or from a OEM version to AOSP, the first thing you'll notice is the things you can no longer do the way you expect. It takes you longer to find the way of doing them with the new system, even if you ultimately come to feel it's better, so it's common for first impressions to contain a lot of negative.

Android is certainly more customisable, and allows you to do a lot of stuff out of the box which would require jailbreaking (and hence a running battle with Apple) on iOS. And don't necessarily assume that the grass is greener on the other side: if you only keep an iPhone for the canonical 2 years you'll probably be fine, but it's not unknown for older iPhones to suffer with newer updates, and conversely if you don't update things stop working at some point because the Apple server refuses to work with the older OS or the app version available for it (my daughter is in this position with her iPhone).

But as Early says, the experiences you've had have been with one manufacturer, and are not representative of android as a whole - plenty of other manufacturers have managed Lollipop updates for hardware as old as your Note 3 which have worked just fine, or even improved performance. Even for Samsung though I think you've been unlucky: I've read plenty of people say their Notes ran better with 4.4 than with 5.0, but not seen other reports of overheating and crashing when in standby.

Check out the LG G2 and G3.They are awesome and I have never had any issues with my G2,Which I have had so far for a year now. Also looking forward to the lollipop update coming out for my device.
