Help Glitch with Downloading Apps?

Hello and thanks for stopping by...

I've been recently having a slight issue with downloading apps to my Mesmerize. Before jumping to the memory conclusing, I've cleared my cache, ended all processes, and checked the available memory on my phone. Right now as I'm looking at it, I have 1.33GB available on my phone and 6.42GB of 14.83GB available on my SD card. I attempted to download an app which sized at 25.22MB and my phone constantly tells me that there is insufficient storage data available. However, after downloading a different app (at around 23MB - it downloaded and installed successfully) I went back to the original app and it downloaded successfully, too.

Now I know it seems like I'm ranting about nothing, but I just thought it was an interesting bug that occured.

Any ideas?

Okay, I've updated to Gingerbread and am still having this issue.

I attempt to download something from the Market only to be told there is insufficient space on the hard drive. This is odd to me as the app is only 50MB and I have 1.37GB available on the phone and over 7GB on my SD card. I've cleared the RAM and only have like 5 or 6 3rd party apps installed - all very small and basic.

I've tried restarting my phone and clearing the RAM. Still, I receive the same error message.

Any help would be appreciated.

iirc, Samsung has some weird "outside the normal android" download limit of 30MB for an app. That may be why you're getting the error.

I'll try to find a source link for that info, I'll post back here if I run it down.

The thing is, it's not exactly 50MB or over, but it's just under the 50MB. I've had this problem before with My Country, but fixed it by restarting the phone/clearing the RAM. Still not letting me download... Even with the non-market downloads checked.

You may want to try downloading it when you're connected to a WiFi network. I usually don't have any issues with big downloads through WiFi.

I think that will work, too. If I recall, I did have to download My Country via WiFi.

Makes sense, though. It sucks USCC only has 5GB on their Belief plan. I wonder if USCC will ever go to 4G?

they are supposed to roll 4G out around the first of the year

Thanks for the update, mate.

Glad to see they're soon rolling with the bandwagon of 4G LTE carries. Unfortunately, I don't live in any of the states they listed that would receive the service first. I thought, for sure, Chicago was one of the bigger marketing cities. Or was that Apple that had Chicago? Ugh.

Regardless, I can't wait.

Okay, I attempted to install the same app that claimed I did not have enough space via WiFi and got the same error. I really want this game. =\

This issue is becoming a nuisance. Every time I try to download this same app (Third Blade) that is only 49MB in size, I get the "insufficient space" error. However, my fiancee who has the LG Optimus U was able to download the app just fine via 3G. I cannot download via 3G or WiFi. It is really starting to irritate me that I cannot download this app.

I have over 1GB of storage on my phone and well over 7GB on my SD card. This problem should not occur in my opinion. Especially since my fiancee and I are both using USCC.

Any ideas?

Can you download to your pc the usb transfer it to your sd card?
Or does that even work with the android phones?

As far as I know, the only outsourced download capability that Android phones have is that you can access the Market via a computer and log in with your Google account then access the app you want to download and have the Market download it to your phone without you actually physically interacting with your phone.

Otherwise, I have no idea about downloading to the PC and transferring it to the phone via USB mass storage.

Matt: search for topics on here (and/or other forums) about the Mesmerize/Captivate/Vibrant's download size limit. It is different than it is for other Android devices (different=less). I just can't remember what the limit is. I want to say it is 50. That would explain why you can't DL it to your phone.
