Help Gmail and chat applications are not syncing with through data network

Hi

I am using Samsung Galaxy ace.

When i try to sync the gmail and chat application through my phone network, it is poping up a message that could not able to connect to the server.

But it is able to sync through my home WIFI network.

At the same time i am able to access the internet through the phone data network with my phone internet browser.

Please let me know if any solution is available on this.

Are you on a 2g network? 2g is slow enough to cause the apps to 'time out' and to stop connecting.
