Gmail app not updating & delivering notification on time.

Just got my replacement Note 8.

I had my original for almost 3 months and I didnt have this issue with the gmail app. Now it takes a while before the notification comes through. If it is overnight I dont wake up with a email notificaiton. I only get the new email alert after I go into the app and it syncs....

Whats the fix for this bologna???

Since you most lilkely used a backup (smart switch?) you may have something “tangled up” in your backup.

Things to do are clear cache on the gmail app, clear google services cache as well.

Could also be an issue if you are using a battery saver option on your phone.. perhaps your phone is killing that background proces.

So take a look into your settings and verify/test.

I just loaded my apps and settings from my google backup.. does the same apply?

Gmail is needed to log into the phone and related data, so yes it matters.

Its difficult to try and give specific opinions over the internet on what to do since everyone has different setups.
