gmail app won't send

Do a "Refresh" in Gmail application. That's what I have to do to send. ;)

I have the same problem. Refreshing doesn't help, and it doesn't have to do with connectivity (happens both when I've got 3G or wifi). It only happens occasionally, but when it does my email just gets lost and stuck saying "sending." I can no longer open the email or see a draft or anything.

Any other information about how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Same problem here.
Found multiple threats on this:
http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/50144-gmail-not-sending-syncing-right-sitting-outbox.html
http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/45383-gmail-app-not-sending-my-emails.html
http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/52970-gmail-cant-send-emails.html
etc...

Nothing worked for me so far. :(
Eventually it seems like the e-mails get send after an amount of time.

But the most annoying part, that I don't see mentioned before:
When on my G1, the gmail app tels me sending... and I login on my Gmail via my computer browser, the sending changes in draft. When I open the draft, its an empty draft. Both in the browser and on my phones gmail app.
It seems to delete the reply when its sending on my phone and I open gmail in a browser.

Anyone?

Yours
Bas.

Ok...so I am having this same problem and I have had it before...what I did was go into menu > settings> applications> manage applications> then go to gmail and gmail storage and clear data on both...then reboot your phone.
This should work. You will have to set it up again, but your mail should send.
