Gmail application and sent messages

I currently use IMAP on my Windows Mobile phone and what bugs me is that messages the sent messages between Googlemail web and the WM phone do not synchronise (only the inbox does).

Can anyone confirm if the gmail application on G1 does not suffer this problem? i.e. messages sent from the gmail app on G1 can be viewed in the sent items on googlemail on the web.

Yeah it does - I sent my wife a link to a youtube video via gmail from my phone last night and I just verified that it's accessible on gmail from my laptop.

Unfortunately, the mail application on the g1 does not (at least with pop) do the same thing.
