Gmail / Drive Outage

Just saw this story about an outage yesterday and wondered if anyone here had been affected?

Clearly, given I had to read about this to hear of it, I wasn't affected but then I wouldn't expect to be given I'm way too tight to pay for cloud storage and, although I obviously have a gmail account, I don't actually use it - after 15 year with the same hotmail account, I don't see much point in switching.
 
I am a heavy Google services user and I have 100 GB of free storage that came with my new Chromebook. I had read about the outage but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary on my end. The outage was fixed, as reported by Google, yesterday afternoon.
