Gmail question

I open up my gmail app on my Incredible and I got all my mail. I check two things then delete them. It runs and syncs like it's doing it, but the emails are still there. I look online and they're gone. I get new email online and it doesn't show up on my phone.

So somewhere from deleting those emails I stopped syncing somehow. I can't delete anything off my phone and I can't view new emails coming in.

Any ideas?
