Gmail Server Connect Problems Since March 29

People are not going to believe this but.............
For some reason the Sony Xperia Android email app cannot connect to the gmail server since March 29.
I didn't change anything. The setup has not changed since January but all three of the gmail accounts I access with my phone "Cannot connect to server".
My yahoo email accounts connect every try.
Now here is the BIGGIE. If I go to another home where they have Spectrum Internet all three gmail accounts connect to the gmail server every time.
But at home (AT&T) my phone connects to yahoo email only and cannot connect to gmail.

What is more, I have confirmed that my phone CAN access the gmail servers when I am on a network other then AT&T and cannot access the gmail servers when on my home AT&T network.
My phone can access the yahoo servers on any network.
Yesterday I tried many times to get my phone app to access my gmail and yahoo email servers. Yahoo always connected, gmail did not.
I went to a nearby home that uses cable provided by Spectrum. Both gmail and yahoo connected to the servers every time.
I then went to Walmart where they have free wi-fi. Again my phone connected to both the gmail and yahoo servers.
I returned home and, as before, my phone can connect only to the yahoo servers.
What is going on?
Is gmail blacklisting AT&T from phone apps?

Oh how weird. As this problem involves the Gmail app, have you tried logging into your account via a web browser instead?
https://mail.google.com
Also, and probably more relevant, have you restarted your AT&T modem?

Yes I have used the browser and it works no problem. So when I called AT&T they say it can't be their problem and I can see their side of it.
As for restarting the modem/router, see my additional testing that I will post below.

I believe I have confirmed my theory that my android phone email app cannot connect to the gmail server when on the AT&T network but will connect fine on other networks.
Today before I left home (my AT&T wi-fi network) I tried a few times to get the app to connect to yahoo and gmail. Yahoo worked fine but the gmail servers would not connect.

So I went to the gym to work out. They have free wi-fi there. My email app connected to both the yahoo server and the gmail server just fine.
So then I went to Home Depot where they also have free wi-fi. There, the yahoo server connected fine but the gmail servers would not connect. Guess what the name of the wi-fi network is. "att-wifi". So I went down the road to Lowes where they also have free wi-fi. The app worked fine on all the servers. The name of the network was, "Lowes-Guest-WIFI". Then I went further down the road to Walmart and tried the app. Again it worked fine. The name of the network was"Walmartwifi".

So, it must be that I cannot connect to the gmail servers when on an AT&T network but if on other networks it works fine.
I called AT&T and they were very nice but said that since I can get on the internet (via a browser and other apps that use the internet) it is not their system.

How can I get someone to look into this?

Again, try restarting your AT&T modem. Just assuming you've got one of their Arris modem/router units, remove the power plug, wait about five minutes, then insert the plug. It'll probably take several minutes to finish starting up and authenticating itself again. Then try and see if the Gmail app is working again. No matter if AT&T is stating things are working fine on their end (as it probably is), the issue you're having is on your end.
You might also want to go into your phone's Settings >> Apps menu, find the Gmail app, tap on 'Force stop' and then go into 'Storage' and tap on the 'Clear data' button.

Not to be ornery but it also fails on the Home Depot "att-wifi" network. It is more like gmail won't accept connections from AT&T.
Now a further update.
Today I dug out an old cellphone. It is the Amazon FirePhone (android).
I stopped using it in January and started using my Sony Xperia (android).
Well, I tried to use the Amazon phone email app to connect to my gmail and yahoo accounts.
On my home AT&T wifi, only the yahoo account would connect the three gmail accounts could not connect.
I took the phone to a place with wifi (not AT&T) and it connected just fine to all four accounts.
I took it to Home Depot where the name of the network is "att-wifi". The gmail accounts failed to connect just like with my Sony phone.

At this point I have established that two different android phones can connect to gmail fine to non AT&T networks but won't connect on at least two different AT&T networks. But both phones connect fine to yahoo.

I guess the question becomes, "How do I find someone that will work this issue?"

It would help to know just what you have tried to fix the problem. You've listed the various Wi-Fi networks that you've connected to but not what steps have you taken to address the problem.
For the third time I'll ask, have you rebooted your modem/router? Deleted/re-added your home Wi-Fi network in your phone's Settings menu? Tried setting up guest network on your AT&T modem/router to just to see if that works?
If you're averse to doing anything to your home network, call AT&T to have them send someone out.

(1)Yes, I have not rebooted my modem.
(2) Yes I have not deleted and re-added my network to my phone.
(3) AT&T set up my network for mesh operation thus setting up a Guest network might interfere with that.
I actually can't remember all the things I have tried. I am hoping someone else has had this problem and found a solution.
