Gmail sync setting

Great question. I've gone in to the Gmail app, and found nothing. Then, I went in to Settings, and then Accounts and Sync, it looks like there's only an option to have it sync automatically, or manually. Can't find anything that says how often.
 
I believe the stock GMail app uses push (unless you have it set to not sync). It is different than setting up an account (like pop3 / imap) in the HTC mail app where you tell it how often to pull..... Push is supposed to have better battery life.
 
Yes regression is right. The stock app doesn't have to keep checking the server for new mail. The server sends it to the app when new mail arrives. Much more efficient.
