Gmail syncing problem?

I use gmail on all my devices. My Inbox on the N7 does update with new messages but does not seem to update what's currently in my Inbox on all the other devices. Is this a bug or am I missing a setting change? THANKS

You may have sync turned off. I'm not sure where the setting is, but there is a widget with 5 switches on it. Wi-Fi, GPS, bt, sync, and brightness. Try that.

Go to settings, accounts, google, touch it, touch the account at the top, make sure gmail is checked
