gmaps alternative, and offline radio player needed.

I'm going offline with my phone outside of wifi, and google maps limits how much you can cache, so what would everyone say the best free alternative is?

Also, I need a radio station that can be cached for offline use, also for free (unlike slacker). Or zradio which is also not free, and doesn't allow custom stations.

Install the app called 'We 7'. You can play radio when your offline. Its a free app.

How are you going to stream radio from anywhere offline? Its not gonna magically produce the music from its pocket you know. Offline radio only exists in the form where your phone' FM receiver can receive. Otherwise an offline radio will just play predownloaded recordings of radio shows and not actually be streaming.

for maps, I use Navdroyd, only a couple of Euro for the program, then the maps are all free, based on open source maps. Easy map management. routing is a bit rudimentary.

Navigon - from Garmin, good but expensive

Copilot - first map free, good for routing, but extra maps are expensive. Unstable on some phones

You were asking for an offline radio. Using WiFi is NOT offline radio. Even using WiFi to cache radio stations is NOT offline radio by my book, since its already stored material, you're not streaming an active radio station. Besides, having radio stations on cache for you to listen to is not different from just recording a radio station, and is not "streaming". And honestly, I don't see the point of storing a radio station in cache. The only data that will be stored will be the ones you already opened and listened to. Much better if you just record it, at least you can store it indefinitely and not have Android cache clearing remove the radio randomly.

Uh, yeah, actually I did answer your question initially as I understood your question, saying offline radio is impossible since there is no source to stream from. To which you responded that was not what you meant. I simply responded in a way to tell you to be more clear in expressing yourself. I wasn't malking excuses. I was telling you to say what you want in a better manner.

Try to lose the attitude when you're the one asking for help and wasn't able to convey yourself in a manner where people understood you correctly.

Remember, correct grammar and semantics is the key to knowing the difference between your shit and you're shit. So yes, semantics in an international forum like this could mean the difference between finding the answer you are looking for and a wrong answer as previously given.
