I just recently found out about Gmote and I have to say that this is the best Android remote on the app market. Gmote lets the user control their computer from a distance using either a wireless internet connection or the 3G network. Gmote is very useful for things such as playing music, watching videos, opening documents and power points and much more. Gmote has a very easy 3 step setup and a nice website by the developers that provides useful troubleshooting and suggestions.

The developers seem very dedicated to the application and are constantly updating it with new versions that add more features. Gmote works for Windows (XP, Vista, 7), Linux and Mac computers. Gmote provides a useful folder browsing feature that allows the user to make shortcuts to certain folders for access to music or video specific folders. Gmote also has a touch-pad screen that allows the user to control the computer pointer and in addition the phones keyboard also works, which is useful for browsing the web or typing documents. I have found this application to be much more practical than using my desktop dock connected to my stereo to play music for parties and such. Using Gmote results in better sound quality because the computer is connected directly to the stereo as opposed to streaming the music from the phone over the bluetooth to the dock connected to the stereo. Using Gmote to play music is also better because the user has access to the whole music library on their computer instead of just the music on their phone. Playing the music also has many settings such as shuffle and Gmote also supports m3u playlists, which is very nice. There are so many cool features to this application some which i have not found yet, and the developers are always taking suggestions to make it even better. There is a free application on the market but I would suggest getting the donate version because this is an amazing application that i have found many uses for.
