Go Locker

Hello all,

I have a couple of questions about Go Locker for those that use it or use Go Launcher EX.

I actually hated it at first for a number of reasons but recently gave it another try. I know I have modified my phone the way I like it and have 2 locker themes I really would love to use.

However, what seriously frustrates me is the lag and inconstant performance. First off, when I power cycle the phone or restart it, it will load the default Skyrocket lock screen for a while before it eventually only loads the Go Locker screen I have chosen. Second, it sometimes does not display the lock screen immediately after waking the phone up by pressing that power button.

I love this very much but I seriously hate the lag and poor performance.

Has anyone been able to tweak this or find a workaround?

Thank you much,

Is it installed on the sd card instead of phone memory? Because if it is, it could be the cause of the lag.

As for the restart, that's normal even for other lockscreens that the default will show up for a couple of seconds first, because the phone will load native services first before apps.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply.

It is not in the system\app folder. The apk location is /data/app. It is definitely not installed on the external SD card though.

Should I convert it to a system app? Do you think that would really help any?

Thanks again!

You did not mention what phone you were using. I was wondering if its in the system memory or on the mass memory. I forget many people don't realize that the mass storage on Android is considered as an SD storage by the system.

Go to menu>settings>applications>manage applications. Look for Go Locker. See if it has an option to "move to phone". If it does, its on mass storage. If the option is "move to SD", its in system storage.

chanchan05,

As stated, it is installed in data/app. If I go to manage applications, "Move to SD" is grayed out. There is no option to move to phone. Should I use a root tool to convert it to system app? Wondering if that will really help though.

Again, I love it and love the current lock screen I'm using with lots of quick shortcuts to apps. Just really hate the delay/lag. Can't stand it really.

Thanks!

BTW, I'm using a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket

That's what I figured. Thank you though for the help. I posted this very same issue on another forum and one suggestion was Milocker, which I never even heard of. I love Go Launcher EX and use almost all of their apps but did decide to give this milocker a try. Quickly uninstalled it! It is actually worse than Go Locker when it comes to this issue.

So yes, I guess it just need a bit of tweaking!
