Go SMS popup messages don't appear to be working

I use Go SMS as my default msging app, however it seems when I get a new message I get the default android popup message which is ugly and annoying.

Under GO SMS settings I have enable popup windows checked. Why am I still getting stock popups???
 
Stock popups? I'm pretty sure the stock app doesnt even have pop ups? What phone are you using? And can you post a screen shot of this popup?
