I just stumbled upong Go Sms Pro. I have the LG Ally. Any thoughts on this app specifically with the Lg Ally would be GREATLY appreciated !!!!! PLEASE?!:confused:
 
none specific to that phone but i CAN tell you it works great on my rooted mytouch4g running cyanmod 7.

best advice i can give you is to download it and try it out. worst case scenario? you delete it. but it really is a great sms app imo
 
i replaced handcent with this, found no bugs at all yet. Have been using it a while now and is a fantastic app. (i have rooted desire). Like the above said just try it yourself to get your own opinion.
 
I've just switched to this from Handsent (which was getting increasingly more buggy.. kept having to Force Close etc) and so far so great!

As advised above.. download and see and if you don't like then uninstall
 
I just did the same (Handcent to Go SMS) today. I few more options I like. Handcent gave me no issues though.

I've been using GoSMS Pro since its release. I love it. Follow the directions when you launch it for the first time and I don't think you'll have any problems.

Pop-up messages FTW.
Message reminders FTW!
Customisable interface FTW!

Anyone have any idea why this happens ?

On a HTC Incredible S, if I set up an individual notification, i.e. a different ringtone for that person, I get that notification, but i also get the default one I get in the app for everyone else.

Also if a text is longer thatn a 160 characters the notfication goes beserk and goes off about three times

PS

I have disabled the notification tone in the default HTC messaging app :)

Really? I installed Go SMS Pro last night. And I cannot figure out how to configure it so my picture and the other person's picture appears next to each individual SMS message like with Handcent. All I got was the other person's picture at the top of the screen. Now I have to spend a second trying to figure out whether I sent the message or the other person. Anyone know how to put my picture next to each SMS I sent and the other person's pic next to their's?
 
A little off topic but does anyone know how to get it to where you don't have to click on Download every time you want to read a message? Handcent didn't do this and I don't think the stock SMS does this. I can't seem to find the setting to change it.

Download your messages? Donno but the only messages I have to click download for are MMS. What type of phone are you using and what os are you running? The more info you give the better your chances are of receiving help.

Sadly, it won't be for me since I'm not an Android expert by any means=[

I have a Nexus S stock OS 2.3.1

My issue is my phone is also used as a pager for server messages and they all come in as MMS. It's very annoying.
