So, this is my first post on this forum and I'm hoping to get some feedback from you all...
I'm currently using an iPhone 4 and I'm eligible for an upgrade. I originally was going to wait until the iPhone 5 came out, but based on what I've seen/read... I'm not seeing any major differences other than a larger screen and a better camera. I'm starting to get bored with my iPhone and I want more customization options. I'm about 95% sure I'm gonna go with the Samsung Galaxy S3, but before I do I'd like to be somewhat prepared for the switch.
1. My main concern I have is my music. I have over 1,000 songs on my iPhone right now and a lot of them I bought directly from iTunes. Are the purchased songs going to create any problems for me as far as xferring them onto the other phone? Do you just drag and drop? Do I need a certain app to convert them? Also, do I absolutely have to have a SD card for storing my music/pictures/etc or what are my other options?
2. I'm really looking forward to customizing this phone, so can anyone recommend some useful apps that I should start out with and what all you can actually change appearance wise on an Android? I'm looking for customization apps, apps that will help with the battery usage, and any other Android apps that you think might be beneficial.
3. I've seen a lot of talk about rooting, and I'm not exactly sure what it means. I'm assuming it's like jailbreaking an iPhone, but I've never actually done that with mine or any of my previous iPhones. Is it hard to do? What are the benefits of rooting? Because the Galaxy S3 is so new, should I wait before trying to root it?
4. For those of you that went from an iPhone to an Android, what are the main changes that I will have to get adjusted to? What are the pros and cons of both type of phones?
I'm sure there's other threads just like this one, but I didn't feel like searching this huge forum for my answers lol.
